Kearny Villa Road near Miramar Base

San Diego, CaliforniaOct 24, 20040 Comments

Motorcycle cops will be on the side of the road either southboard or northboard. One guy on the north side is hard to see because he hides under the shadow of the overpass. The southbound guy is visible but slick because he hangs near the 50mph speed sign. You need to pay attention to this because the previous speed sign states 65mph. So if you’re not alert, you’ll be doing 65 in a 55 and help pop you quick with his nifty lidar. Can we say ‘speed trap’?

Activity Road near Camino Ruiz Street

San Diego, CaliforniaOct 24, 20040 Comments

Heading West on Activity Rd, as you’re getting closer to the end of the street (i.e. Camino Ruiz), pay attention to your right, and toward the next to the last driveway before the last building at the corner. Remember on your right. Before the driveway, there are some bushes and scrubbery obscuring it. Look even closer and you will see a motorcycle cop partially visible hiding behind them. He’ll pop you real quick with his ladar, but he won’t hit you till you’re close. Occasionally he uses radar. I pick him up well ahead of time with my radar detector. He’ll pop you, then hop on is bike and chase you down. Then return right back to his same hiding place one again. He loves that spot.

Mira Mesa Boulevard near Marbury Avenue

San Diego, CaliforniaAug 17, 20040 Comments

Mira Mesa Blvd southbound, speed limited drop from 55 to 35mile, 3 lines each side, both way and with divider in the middle.

Texas Street

San Diego, CaliforniaJul 01, 20040 Comments

Going southbound up the hill into University Heights/North Park the speed limit is about 45 then once you come to the crest of the hill it lowers to 25. There are often cops on foot with radar who walk in front of your car and stop you if you go above 25. Its hard to see them because they crouch between parked cars and trees.
