Going North on Almaden Expressway, the officer is waiting at the jacuzzi place just before the bridge that goes over capitol expressway/hillsdale ave. That part of the expressway is very long and tempting, so be careful. He was on a bike and pulled up next to me at the stop light at Foxworthy.

This is a no-turn-on-red trap rather than a speed trap, but, for my purpose, it serves the greater good to advise and warn everyone who reads this of SJPD presence here. This trap mostly applies to motorists who are entering the SB lanes of Almaden expressway from Almaden Plaza Wy. The traffic in this intersection is mostly made up of people exiting the SB 85 freeway at Almaden Expressway, then proceeding south on the expressway. There is a sign here that states that cars aren’t allowed to turn right on red lights. People who do turn are often surprised by a motorcycle cop waiting just around the corner, out of sight, in front of the Chevy’s Mexican restaurant, to waive them over and ticket them. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel here for them. I’ve seen SJPD here a number of times during the afternoon commute.
