Simi Valley, California Speed Traps
Cochran Avenue near Stearns Avenue
Motorcycle cops sit across from Simi High School (south side) everyday as class is dismissed. Two bikes work the stretch between Stearns and Tapo from 2:00 to 3:00. Everyday they pull over people who don’t obey the 25 mph school zone.
Country Club Drive near Wood Ranch Parkway
Country Club Drive both East and West bound traffic, motor officer working it heavily in the morning. Speed limit is already posted at 50MPH which is more than enough, so be careful. February 2008.
Cochran Street near First Street
Cop sits right by the side/back entrance to Toyota dealership in-between the entrance to Toyota and the wash. I have seen bike cops use the Toyota sign to blend in. There are also cop cars parked along the side of the road by the houses facing east (away from first street). Long straight road few lights easy to lose track of your speed. Speed limit 45
US Highway 118 west
Everytime I go biking towards Kuehner Dr. exit, there is a CHP parked right at the bottom of the exit, scoping the cars that pass by the upper part of the bridge. I see it every sunday morning 7-9 am but I’m not sure about the other days.
Los Angeles Avenue near Darrah Street
A motorcycle officer parks on the south side of East Los Angeles ave. and points west, attempting to cite speeders going eastbound. The speed limit is 45 mph, but 50 mph seems to be the average speed. Enforcement is agressive.
