Denver, Colorado Speed Traps
Speer Boulevard
Just west of Cherry Creek mall. Sits in median. Check both east and west bound traffic on different days.
On Florida ave near Quebec
Officer sitting in SUV with radar gun. Tagging westbound drivers.
17th Ave at Fillmore
Unmarked black Ford Explorer sits parked on 17th Avenue in front of Pinnacle Townhomes. When someone drives by who is suspected of speeding, this vehicle guns out of the parking space (unsafely), paces suspect vehicle, and pulls them over with hidden red emergency lights. I live on this block and see this trap every weekend. Typically I will drive around the block and mark it on Waze. It is definitely a cop because a closer look reveals the laptop computer on the dash. This vehicle is otherwise completely unmarked and poses as a parked car in a parking space. BEWARE!
Lincoln between 18th and 19th
Emily Griffith School between 18th and 19th on Lincoln. Received two speeding tickets doing 30 mph in 20 mph zone. Van is well hidden and no light flashes. Lincoln is busy in the morning, and delivery trucks hide school zone signs. Easy to be deceived as the heavy traffic averages about 30 mph along Lincoln, with limited speeding. Excessive traffic between 7am and 9am creates burdens and safety issues for school. School is situated in a very unsafe traffic area with limited parking and no bike lanes.
4300 W Colfax Ave. (Btwn Tennyson & Stuart Streets)
Speed drops to 20mph bc of Colfax Elementary School. Photo enforcement van.
