Westminster, Colorado Speed Traps
80th Avenue near Sheridan Boulevard
On 80th, between Sheridan and Federal the speed limit drops from 45mph to 30mph because of an elementary school. It is strictly enforced during the morning and afternoon. The cops usually hang out on the side streets and by the time you see them it is too late.
Wadsworth Boulevard near 106th Street
South bound Wadsworth, top of hill by Standley Lake High School. Officers are Always sitting behind the tan power utility box on the right side. Unmarked and motorcycles. You can see them from the top of the hill clear back by the airport if you look close. Heads Up! Be Safe!
US Highway 36 near Federal Avenue
The City of Westminster has motorcycle cops on HW 36 around Federal. They are out during the summer a lot. They are normally in the East bound lanes in the AM and West bound in the PM. West bound is really bad because they will hide in the shadow of the federal overpass and when you see them it is too late.
US Highway 36 near Between Sheridan and Federal Boulevards in Both Directions
They are up on the bridges and overpasses with lots of high tech equipment. Once they get you, they radio down the road to their friends, that pull you over. Watch The Overpasses!
Sheridan Boulevard near 100th Avenue
On Sheridan from 96th to 104th, the speed limit is only 40 mph, but prevailing speeds are closer to 50. I’ve noticed increased enforcement lately, including unmarked units (blue Chevy). Fairly wide-open stretch with only a couple of cross streets, be careful here.
