Hanna Park (500 Wonderwood)

Jacksonville, FloridaMar 21, 20110 Comments

Cops running radar in park. They’re also looking for seat belts and and expired tags. I got a $204 ticket for going 36MPH and one for $114 ’cause I did not have my belt on. Tough love, I guess. $3 to get in park, $318 to get out.

Cops running radar and looking for anyone just 6 over the 25 limit. Theyr’e also lookng at tags and for wearing seat belts. Don’t get caught with kids in the back of your pick-up, that’s another ticket.

Bucket truck on I 295 between San Jose & Old St Aug Rd

Jacksonville, FloridaMar 18, 20110 Comments

This is a new one, saw a bucket truck on the side of the highway with bucket extended up to one of the light poles, as I got closer I saw two guys inside the bucket with hard hats and radar guns, one was clocking northbound traffic and the other southbound, as I passed I noticed the decal on the side of the truck was from a rental company and then hidden in front and in the grass was two FHP cars , later that day I saw them setup on I 95 near Baymeadows so they could be anywhere,Beware of any bucket truck or seemingly harmless looking construction crew you see on the side of these highways.

Collins Rd, Between Blanding and I-295 Overpass

Jacksonville, FloridaMar 13, 20110 Comments

JSO motorcycle officers set up in driveway of vacant home and shoot toward the I-295 overpass. They catch drivers coming over the crest of the overpass and pull them over en masse. Because they are on motorcycles, they are hard to see. Being in the driveway obscures them behind the vegetation in the fence line. By the time you see them, they are walking out in front of you to pull you over. The speed limit is 40. Most people are caught doing 50 or over. That’s about $150 in fines. Be careful.

Atlantic Blvd near Kernan

Jacksonville, FloridaMar 07, 20110 Comments

Normal limit of 45 has been reduced to 35 well before and past all the road construction. Cops will sit very near the 45 mph signs on both east and west sides with radar catching everyone coming off of the new Kernan overpass who are probably thinking or assuming its 45mph again. Be very attentive…saw an unmarked car pop a mini van at lunch last week!!
