Jacksonville, Florida Speed Traps

Two to three FHP cars and or motorcycles sit at the 95 South merge with radar guns and pull you over. Usually in the afternoon around 3 p.m.

There was one there yesterday pulling EVERYONE over for minor speeds. My ticket was under 10 mph over the speed limit. While I was parked, they must have gotten 6 other cars in 15 minutes. That means 192 cars in 8 hours.

They strategically make it look like an accident scene. I’m not going to go into detail because I’m fighting it in court, but be warned it doesn’t look like they are out to get you until they wave you down to pull over.

JSO lurks in the parking lot of the abandoned "Father’s House" church on the corner. Their cruisers are always facing Monument Road with a radar apparatus on their dash.

An undercover JSO van is patrolling the highway between Heckscher (thats as far north as I have spotted the van) and at least all the way down to the UNF campus/town center exit on 9a.

Its VERY well disguised. The officer wears a JSO uniform though. No distinctive features. A Chevy Astro, all white paint job, silver (NORMAL) van rims, nothing unique. Single exhaust. Regular license plate. This ones hard to spot. I got lucky seeing him twice in a week. I caught him fueling up at the Heckscher drive gas station at 9a, took some pics, uploaded to photobucket:

Ive seen this guy pull someone right after the Damespoint, I was going the opposite direction, and it IS an undercover van. The lights are the white lights below the rear facing lights and in the headlights. There aren’t many lights on it.

Just trying to help you guys out, watch out for this guy, hes sure to get ya in this disguise. Who suspects a van? This is the first time Ive seen him, dunno how new this disguise is…

Kernan Blvd. 1/4 mile north of Beach overpass. Officer on bikes sit in the intersection in front of the apartment complex just north of the overpass beyond Beach Blvd. Your speed is clocked from the top of the overpass. You won’t see them until its too late. Speed limit is posted as 45 mph. Be aware because you’ll be coming down hill.
