Panama City Beach, Florida Speed Traps
US Highway 98 near State Highway 79
The Panama City Beach police will hide around corners or park in the median facing both directions in the vacinity of Frank Brown Park.
Thomas Drive near Bridge to Joan St.
It seems the State Troopers do all the speed enforcement on this stretch of road from Treasure Island to Joan St.. Never see the Sheriff’s department stopping anyone. It is so easy to go over the limit of 35mph
North Lagoon Drive near Capt. Anderson’s to Signal Hill
North Lagoon Drive is long and straight but the speed limit is 35 mph. If you go ANY faster you will get caught from the State Troopers or Sheriff… I’ve even seen the Marine Police giving tickets. The road is approx 4 miles long and is patrolled from one end to the other.
North Lagoon Drive near Cypress Drive
Enforcement is by both moving and stationary patrol, and by both Bay County and FHP. Don’t just look for sedan patrol cars either, they may be in an SUV or a pickup truck!
Panama City Beach Parkway near Cauley Avenue
PCB Parkway Eastbound, small reduce speed sign about 150 yds before Cauley Ave. Goes from 55 to 45 lickity split, with FL State Patrolman parked on side of the paint store with Laser. He radios chase car that stops you before the Exxon, usually in front of the bank! Have seen the stop
Officer uses Road Construction Flags to waive the victim behind the bank to a waiting squad of State Patrolmen (so the trap isn’t visible from pcb HWY 98). This has been going on for years, even been in the local news.
