Port Charlotte, Florida Speed Traps
Cornelius ST between 776 and Biscayne
Police will hide their vehicle on deserted side street and stand on Cornelius with radar gun waiting for you to come around turn (if coming from 776) or if coming from RT 41 just aim at you….you don’t see them until it is too late.
Luther Rd. off of Rampart
I don’t know what they’re doing but 3 times there have been officers just around the first curve standing by the road with radar guns. The limit there is 30 mph and you know everyone does at least 40. Be careful you can’t see them til it’s too late.
Paulson between Vererans and 41
Last week an officer was standing by the tire shop with gun in hand because the limit is 30 mph there. I’ve seen him there once before. I don’t know if they’re trying a new location or what.
Harbor Blvd between Veteran’s Highway and Rte #41.
Watch Your speed all the way through that stretch.
There are 40 mph, 35 mph, and 30 mph zones in that stretch, and I’ve seen 3 – 5 LEOs walking around with hand-held radar guns, on a number of occasions.
There is usually a patrol car sitting inconspicuously somewhere to deal with those who will not stop.
Also, they watch the crossroad traffic signals for red light violations throughout that same stretch.
Drive with care!
Bayshore Drive near the bend between Egdewater and US 41
Usually one car. Speed limit is 30 MPH
