Port Charlotte, Florida Speed Traps
Midway Blvd west of US 41
Just beyond the first canal before cross street Broadranch St., they park on the westbound side offroad facing east with radar. This location is used quite often.
Edgewater Boulevard
Usually 2 cars, sometimes more. They hide in the median behind trees/bushes, on side streets, in driveways of abandoned homes. They are also looking for aggressive drivers.
Harbor Boulevard near Arlington Drive
I travel this road daily. Usually 2 motorcycles are parked on Arlington. 1 cop stands next to the telephone pole with the radar gun, the other cop deals with the unsuspecting victims. Last Monday there were 3 cars pulled over 10am. Beware church goers they are there on Sunday mornings around 9am.

US Highway 41 near Collingswood Boulevard
Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department car sits behind trees on Tamiami Trail just past North Port and the Sarasota-Charlotte County Lines…On the southbound side every day….Go 45 mph it is not worth arguing they give 61 mph tickets 284.00.

County Trunk 769, Kings Highway near Elmira Avenue
This road is most heavily enforced between Harborview and Midway. Enforcement is by way of squad cars hiding in the median and, most recently, an officer on foot with a radar/lidar gun and 5-6 squad cars staged a block or so ahead. The officer on foot hides 50-60 feet off to the side of the road or sits on the guardrail. This is a flat straight extremely safe road with superb visibility and looks very much like a stretch of Interstate. It is posted at 45 MPH but is universally and safely navigated at speeds of 55-60 MPH. I have witnessed tickets given to drivers who could not have passed me going over 50 mph. Beware.
