Sebring, Florida Speed Traps
Do you folks actually know what a "real" speed trap is?
While it is true that the speed on US 27 through Highlands County used to vary erratically, this is no longer the case. A true speed trap has intentionally large or irregular changes in the speed limit. If you get caught speeding in Highlands County you were either speeding or driving with your head up your ass. The 10th Judicial District judges do not take to deceptive law enforcement tactics.
US 27 and Sun N Lake blvd/Valerie blvd
State troopers and county officers park in front of the church (Valeri blvd side), they are watching for red-light runners and speeders, they are there daily.
Golfview Road
Counties like to sit on the empty corner of the golf course, just up from the clubhouse.
Limit 35mph.
Memorial Dr
Just north of railroad crossings, 2-3 police cars waiting for speeders
Brunns Rd
The speed limit on this road is 25! There is a wooded area next to Whispering Pines moble home park. The police park behind the trees and it’s very hard to see them until you are right there. They aren’t too prevelant during winter season, but once our Winter folks are gone it’s a very popular place for them
to catch our full time residents.
