Heading north to Eglin Air Force Base on Eglin Parkway through Shalimar – you drive the Cinco Bayou bridge where speed limit is 45 mph – as soon as you come off the bridge you are in Shalimar and speed decreases to 35 – you will always get a ticket – officer sits at the end of the bridge waiting for traffic coming off the bridge – which people always are speeding due to down slope of bridge.

The speed limit south bound on highway 85, going into Shalimar, goes from 45 to 40. Coming into Shalimar it is 40 all the way from Fort Walton Beach. Zero tolerance from the local PD over 12 MPH, counties are more flexiable.

Shalimar police (brown marked car) likes to sit on the South side of Eglin Pkwy waiting for speeders as they reach the top of the bridge. Very difficult to see police car since half of it is behind bushes and he’s gotcha as you come over the top. 40mph zone but most people do over 45 and even 50.
