Wade Green Road heading towards Hwy 92

Acworth, GeorgiaJul 05, 20111 Comments

The speed limit is 40 and you need to do it. The cops hang on the left side of the road. My ticket cost me $250.00 for doing 50.
Go slow, 250.00 can buy a lot of groceries

vicinty of North Cobb High School on Hwy 293

Acworth, GeorgiaMay 31, 20110 Comments

Acworth Police sit in various spots in front of North Cobb High School. Speed limit is posted as 25 MPH (when flashing). North bound signal prior to this school zone is inconsistent at best, as it is obviously manually operated and not on a timer. Some days its flashing in the morning, some days its not. Some days its flashing during a school holiday period. Normal speed otherwise is 45 MPH.
Nice little money maker!!!

Cedarcrest Rd. near U.S. 41, across from Publix

Acworth, GeorgiaSep 10, 20100 Comments

Cedarcrest Rd. is 45mph in Paulding County and drops to 35mph entering Cobb County. Traveling east into Cobb, you go over a small rise then a gentle right curve then down a hill with Publix on the Left. Cobb County Police position themself directly across the street from Publix aiming at eastbound traffic coming down the hill.

Cedarcrest Rd. about 1/2 mile west of U.S. 41

Just beyond the main entrance to Govenor’s Ridge there is a tree lined straight away on Cedarcrest Rd. where the speed limit is 35mph. Cobb County motorcycle police set up at the far end of the straight away and one cannot tell they are motorcycles until you are right up on them.

Pitner Road near Cheatham Road

Acworth, GeorgiaMay 18, 20100 Comments

A Cobb County Police officer will often park in the entrance to the old landfill and clock motorists coming down the long sweeping hill on Pitner headed North to Cheatham Road. The posted speed limit is 35 but vehicles will gain momentum coming down the hill. Due to forestation and undergrowth there is no possible way to see the cruiser 500′ out. You’ll be on top of the officer before you know he or she is there.
