Albany, Georgia Speed Traps
I was leaving Albany and didn’t recognize the posted limit dropped to 45. Passed a cop running Laser and he tagged me at 61 in a 45. Classic speed trap as he didnt speak much, just cut me the ticket and sent me on my way.
As you cross the bridge over Lake Blackshear on Hwy 300, you enter Worth County. The speed limit is posted before and after the bridge at 45 for quite a long way, although it’s a 4-lane and nothing there but hick deputies. It has only recently become a speed trap and apparently hired extra deputies to make money. Fines are exorbitant.
The police like to hide behind bushes.
From the intersection of Cookville Rd in Lee county to the Dougherty county line is posted 35mph but there is a 2mi. stretch that is nothing but empty country road. Why they ticket people here is beyond me
from Slappey or Oakridge down Newton road (hwy 91) past airport until it turns into 2 lanes…speed limit is 50 mph, GSP and Dougherty County Police, Heat, and Do Co Sheriff’s Dept….all watch this area every day all day!
