Intersection Pharr Rd. & Pharr Court North & South

Atlanta, GeorgiaNov 04, 20110 Comments

At the intersection of Pharr Road and Pharr Court North & Pharr Court South, you will sometimes find a Atlanta Police Car crouched at either Pharr Court North or Pharr Court South waiting for "rolling stops". The police vehicle is somewhat camoflauged by bushes which obstruct the view of the police car by hapless motorists. The time the police vehicle is present is very random times ranging from early morning "drive time" to late evenings. The last time I saw an APD police car was on a Sunday evening just after nightfall. This is also a favorite police roadblock site. This is done every month or two. Raodblocks entail no less than 8 to 10 police vehicles including "chase cars". On occassion, police wagons are also present for taking prisoners/suspects presumably for DUI infractions or driving without insurance, registration, etc.). The intersection is a quiet road among mid-rise condominiums and retirement homes but it is less than a mile from Peachtree Street (the main drag) and the "Buckhead Bar Scene". Stay vigilant and drive carefully!!!

Police frequently set-up speed traps here (more often at the end of the month) to snag eastbound speeders coming over the hill who are unaware of the 25mph limit.

3871 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA – Northbound

Going northbound as you cross the Dekalb County line, police sit in the Kroger shopping center, enter Peachtree behind you from the parking lot from Starbuck’s Coffee while you wait at light and after you continue when light turns green ticket you for 50+ mph in a 35 mph zone . This can occur any day including Saturday but especially at end of the month. Please note this is a 35 mph zone with no speed limit signs between Maple Drive and Dresden. Always ask to for a Radar / Laser Accuracy Check!

Five lanes in each direction yet the speed limit drops to 55mph. Motorcycle cops live on that stretch of interstate under the overpasses and monitor North and South travelers.
