Cumming Highway near Lathamtown

Canton, GeorgiaOct 10, 20020 Comments

My husband had turned onto Ga Hwy 20 from Arbor Hill Rd and had gone about a block when he passed a county cop on the side of the road. He was doing nearly 50 (the posted speed is 45 but goes up and down) The cop said he was doing 62 mph but that is impossible. My husband will be 65 in a couple weeks and drives about 25,000 miles a year and has never gotten a speeding ticket before. If there is one thing my husband isn’t it is speedy (married to him for 38 years). I have a number of speeding tickets under my belt but he has never even had a parking ticket and this one is for $93.75. He is retired and we really have a hard time so this is doubly hard especially since he really wasn’t speeding. We couldn’t talk to the cop as we could tell he was a smart aleck to start with. After we had gone to get my prescription we saw him and another cop still pulling folks over and we really looked to see if they looked like they were speeding and as far as I could tell they were just pulling people over. There was about an hour and a half between my husbands ticket and when we returned.

140 Eastbound

Canton, GeorgiaJun 01, 20010 Comments

This speedtrap is where 515 and 140 meet up. The posted speed limit is 40 mph. The City police officer sits about 20 feet before the City Limits end in the eastbound lane right before the railroad tracks.
