I- 185 & US Hwy 80

Columbus, GeorgiaMay 30, 20090 Comments

Motors hiding in the shadows of the overpass……very active area for GSP , Colombus Police and Muscogee County Sheriffs Dept. from Southbound side , the speed breaks from 65mph to 55mph right before the overpass. From the North Bound Side traffic breaks off to hwy 80 east there is a gentle downhill slope and naturally your speed will increase, this is where they will clock you, just before you go under the overpass.

River Road

River Road in or near the River Road School. Nearly every AM, 2 Motorcycle Officers sitting just South of the School zone, and nabbing those who exceed the posted School Zone speed of 25 mph. The two crossing guards are truly showboaters, but I also agree they do a great job. They irritate me every time I go through that school zone, but due to the nature of the area, drivers would never slow down or exercise caution without those two old showboaters. And God help the parents who are trying to pull out of the school roadway and turn left without help.

Interstate I-185 N&S near US Highway US-80 JR Allen/North Bypass Overpass

Columbus, GeorgiaMar 09, 20080 Comments

A GSP cruiser will sit in the median just between the North Bypass and the Double Churches Road overpass. It will appear to be aimed to the north, for south bound traffic. However, his body is facing south at the north bound traffic armed with a Lidar gun – and he’s steady with it! Most common on Friday between 3-6pm Est.
