Columbus, Georgia Speed Traps
Armour Road near Manchester Expressway
Armour Road is a very common area of Columbus for the police to be sitting in a parking lot "clocking" people. I’ve known many people over the years to get tickets for driving 45mph or more. The road (as far as I know) is only 35mph from one end to the other, but is a very busy road as it is in the middle of town and connects Manchester Expwy to Airport Throughway.
University Avenue near Macon Road
This road connects two very busy roads (Macon Rd. and Manchester Expwy). The posted speed limit is 35mph, and I personally recommend not going too much over that as I have had several friends receive tickets for going not much over 35mph. I assume that they are strict about the limit because of the university being located on this road, but rarely are there people walking along this road.
I185 Southbound 2 or 3 miles past hwy 80
There is another entry of exit 3 on I185, Not sure if this is the same. Mostly motorcycle cops that hide next to overpass (Hwy 27?) 2 or three miles past hwy 80. Speed limit, for no reason, changes from 65 to 55 make conditions ripe for a trap.
I-185 near exit 3
Typically a car will be at the underpass on the southbound lane immediately after exit 3 or a car will be in the median where the median barrier ends (just pass exit 3 southbound, and just before exit 3 northbound).
