Conyers, Georgia Speed Traps

Rockdale County Police park in business drive ways along Hwy 138 going toward the Horse park. It’s a 3 lane road and most drives do not notice that it’s posted 45 until after you have past East View. Sometimes there is 3 or 4 cars pulled within minutes. Also coming FROM the horse park it’s 55 until right before East View and drives do not slow.

The State Patrol/County Deputy backs into the entrance to the Monastery and aims the radar up the curvng hill back towards the northwest… A driver coming down the hill and around the curve southeast bound will not see the Trooper’s car until too late!

By the way I hear that in Georgia they cannot use Radar at night… Not sure if this is true or not but some 15 years ago I got caught in the one above, about 11:00 pm!!!! Maybe the law has been changed since!!

On right side of the road, pulled up into neighborhoods that turn off the main road. Hwy 20 before arriving at the intersection of Honey Creek and GA Hwy 20. GSP works that area alot.

Cops sit at the turn off at Zingara Road and GA 20 as you come around curve in the road. Always watch for them coming down the hill as well! They will bust you for sure on this stretch and it’s easy to get your speed up here to get around someone or get up the hill! BE CAUTIOUS!

A GSP has been sitting at the bottom of a hill on Gees Mill Rd. running radar on traffic coming from the direction of the GA Intl. Horsepark. The speed limit is posted 45, but many speed up and down this road. The problem is that once you top the hill you are caught as there is no way to see him/her until you top the hill.
