Marietta, Georgia Speed Traps
Sandy Plains at Running Fox Ct.
Police frequently park on Running Fox Ct. watching for speeders on Sandy Plains. This location is at the bottom of steep hills from both directions making it a little hard to maintain the 45 MPH.
Johnson Ferry Rd. @ little Wileo
Careful, this area is a school zone and Johnson Ferry is three lanes in each direction with a 45 mph speed limit. Police love to write school tickets here because they are wopper tickets!
I75 southbound @ Windy Hill
I 75 southbound just before the Windy Hill overpass the grass median turns into concrete wall. Right there they hide and can’t be seen untill your on them. It’s already back to 55 MPH. Your caught !!!!
Canton Hwy just south of Shallowford
There are two churches across from each other on Canton north of Hawkins Store Rd and just south of Shallowford. There are usually 2 in the parking lot on the west side of the road. Especially at night. There hasn’t been a weekend night coming back home that I haven’t seen them there. Creep slowly by and don’t make any sudden movements.
Indian Hills Parkway and Summit Drive
Cobb Police love to target the 3 way stop / intersection at Indian Hills Parkway and Summit Drive. The speed limit on Indian Hills is 30 MPH but it’s easy to drive 40ish on that road…although not safe because of the golf cart crossings. Be careful driving through Indian Hills as the speed varies from 25 to 30. Police brag that they write between 150 and 200 speeding and stop sign violation tickets each month in Indian Hills. This is a major revenue source.
