I was dropping a friend off in Roswell at about 1:00AM. A car had pulled up nect to me at a light trying to challenge me to a race. When the light turned geen he took off like a bat outa hell and I drove noamlly. There were 2 patorl cars off to the right and they clocked him and followed, I moved over to let the cop go buy and he pulled the car over. I made a left hand turn so I could take my friend home and noe more then 1 min had gone buy and my car was surrounded by 3 police cars. The pulled me over at a Kroger where they were joined by 4 more police cars and a Sheriff car. As the proceded to drag us from my car I was being yelled at by at least 8 officers saying that I was drag racing (my 1991 honda accord). Then the officer who "clocked" me pulled up, this lovely 5’11" 200 something pound officer got in my face and accused me of somking pot and street racing. It was 35 degrese outside and I was freaked out of my gourd and the officer wanted to know why my eyes were red and I was shivering. Jeez I wonder! While this was taking place my car was being searched and audience had grown outside of the Kroger. My freind had been take to the other side of the car and they treatned to take him to juvi becasue he was out past cufew. I was told that I could go to jail for street racing, speeding, reckless endangerment, contributing to the deliquency of a minor (curfew violation) which he said was a felony, possesion of a controled substance (the pot which we didnt have)and attempting to evade a police officer (because I made a left turn to go to my friends house) So after I had finished peeing in my pants the 8 + police officers let me go with a speeding ticket. But wait there is more. As I was leaving, I made a left turn on a light that had just turned Y E L L O W ! !. The officer that cloked me decided that I had ran a red light and decided to pull me over AGAIN!!!! The moral of this story. DONT EVER EVER EVER TRAVEL IN THE CITY OF ROSWELL. STAY HOME AND WATCH A MOVIE!!!

If you doubt the attitude of the police in this Atlanta suburb, read the comments from what appears to be a Roswell officer near this one. (The one that starts with "Beware..") Roswell has seen massive growth and they’ve been on a municipal building spree for the last decade and need to pay for it. Forget about beating the ticket in court. Ever seen a "kangaroo court scene" in a western movie? That’s what Roswell Traffic Court is like. The only difference is they don’t take you out and hang you. Try to explain to the judge and solicitor your circumstances and they act like a fed-up parent listening to a whining kid. Then they slam you with a big fine and often demand you take a defensive driving course. Georgia has certain laws dictating how traffic detection devices are to be used, the line-of-site distance an officer using one of these devices must adhere to, etc. In Roswell, these are mere "suggestions." Unless you absolutely, positively have to travel in Roswell … DON’T!
