Woodstock, Georgia Speed Traps
All of Them Street near All of Them Street
The entire city of Woodstock is a notorious speed trap. Stick a turkey on the roof of your car before entering town and by the time you get to the other side of town that bird will have been thoroughly microwaved. Speed limits are set absurdly low in hopes of encouraging speeding. The city is so well-known that the state to date will not allow them to run radar on I-575 which cuts right through the city. No other municipality in the county has been denied this "opportunity". City leaders are unapologetic (are speed trap town leaders ever apologetic?). My advice: stay out of Woodstock as much as possible and spend your sales tax dollars elsewhere.
Neese Road near The Park
The are has a posting of 30mph then cuts down to 25 after the stop sign coming from 92. The sign is hidden a bit. Police sit and either side entrance of the park looking for the person that think that won’t be seen.
State Highway 92 near Ace Hardware
On Hwy 92 just over the Cherokee County line you can expect motorcycle cops, sheriffs in slightly marked cars parked in the shadows at night, and plenty of harassment once they catch you. Speeding isn’t their priority, it’s what opens you up to be searched, according to them.
Town Lake Parkway near QT gas station
Speed trap on Town Lake parkway at the bottem of a hill just before you reach the Long horns resturant/QT gas station plaza. They’re there at rush hour and after dusk parked on a side street (for your safety). Posted speed limit is 40mph but unless your on the brakes by the time you get to the bottem of the hill your doing 50 plus. Seen alot of cars suckered into this trap BEWARE!
US Highway 92 near W. Wylie Bridge Road
Woodstock PD sits at the bottom of hill radaring traffic heading east, 100 feet ahead of W. Wylie Bridge Rd.
