Hershey Road near Empire Avenue

There is always a cop sitting by the YWCA on Hershey just north of Empire. The speed limit is only 30, but it is very easy to go 45; so watch out.

Trooper Dilly used phony radar to shakedown out of state truckers. He swore I was going 75 in a truck that would only do 70 not to mention I was only going 55.He thought since I was from out of state I would just plead no contest pay the fine keep it off my record and he would get the credit.

Intersection of East Lafayette St. and South Maple St.

Bloomington, IllinoisAug 14, 20030 Comments

As you turn west off of Morrissey Drive onto East Lafayette St, about 3 streets down on the right is South Maple St. The marked unit sits just out of site, and as you turn and accelerate over the small hill, he zaps you. As soon as he sees you, it is way too late to slow down! The posted limit there is 30 mph and i suggest sticking to it. It is too easy to drive 45 on that street!

Hershey Rd

sitting on side street is the places to watch. Bloomington has a couple units that the only thing they have to do is run radar. the crime is so low in Bloomington they have to have some thing to do. the areas to watch are from Ireland Grove rd to Washigton st. and from rt 9 to clearwater ave. Sitting in the Rollingbrook parking lot behind the trees and on Lemon st across from the YWCA are the 2 most watched spots. They also like sitting on the side streets between Oakland and Washigton. they will back up far enough that you can not see the squad car til it is to late. thay most always use Marked units.
