Glenview, Illinois Speed Traps
Traveling on Willow Road (newly repaved and widened) coming from the Glen area (Patriot Blvd) up to Waukegan Rd. max speed is 40 miles/hr then soon after crossing Waukegan Rd. SUDDENLY the speed limit is reduced to 30 miles/hr! for about a mile or so then return to 35.
The new widened willow road can EASILY support the 40 Miles Hr. The sudden reduction to 30 is an OBVIOUS speed trap maybe set to repay the construction?…
Officers frequently sit in the GBS parking lot off of Pfingsten Rd facing north. They are there about 4 out of 7 days a week, and are usually there at night or when school is out. They’re hard to spot because they turn their lights off and sit in an area without illumination.
There are glenview cops hiding around that intersection watching people roll through the stop sign.
Police cars will stand in the lot of St. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church and radar cars traveling on Lake Avenue or Wagner Road as the parking lot is on a corner.
When traveling on Shermer Road between Central and Glenview Roads, police will enforce the 30 mph speed limit. They typically park their cars in Rugen Park, across the street from the Golf Course..this is a notorious trap, a real revenue earner for the village.
