Norridge, Illinois Speed Traps
Gunnison Avenue near Cumberland to Pittsburg Avenues
A marked police squad sits on Pontiac Avenue facing south alongside a large Pine tree and clocks eastbound/westbound traffic on Gunnison Avenue between Cumberland Avenue and Pittsburg Avenue during the heavy evening rush hour. I believe they target vehicles that do not want to wait for the long light at Lawrence Avenue and use Gunnison as a detour. The speed limit on Gunnison is 20 m.p.h., so it’s like shooting fish in a barrel considering Cumberland is a 30 m.p.h. zone. Watch out for the K-9 officer. He does not give breaks.
Cumberland Avenue near Montrose Avenue
Between Montrose and Irving…Sometimes all the way down to Addison. Police officers on foot with laser radar. With squad cars waiting for calls victims.
Forest Preserve Drive
This is between Oak Park & Harlem on Forest Preserve Drive they have about 10 squads out there and they use the gun to catch you.
Canfield Road near Foster Avenue
Police sit on the first side street behind trees all day and night, intermittantly nailing people for vaguely encroaching the 25 MPH boundary in a 20MPH zone.
East River Road near Carmen Street
Since I live on East River Road now, I notice at least twice a day there is always a cop chillin on Carmen and East River Road, the Street is only 35 and its between apartment buildings and a forest preserve, so its easy to speed. If you are going North look for Forest Arms Apartments, they hang out in between there. Its just north of lawerence and just south of foster. SO WATCH OUT
