Norridge, Illinois Speed Traps
Canfield, between Lawrence and Foster
The entire length of this stretch of Canfield has been a speedtrap for decades because the city of Norridge has an unreasonably low speed limit posted for the type of street and traffic. It should be a 35, minimum 30mph, but posts 20. Just an excuse to give a ticket, it is not unsafe to travel at 35 here. Recent justification by police is that "area residents have been complaining" about speeders. Yeah, it’s pretty easy to complain about anyone going over 20. Norridge residents want the luxury and convenience of access to streets that get them to or through Chicago and a couple other suburbs, but don’t want non-residents to travel on their streets. Shameful philosophy, using traffic violations to restrict and rip-off your neighbors. Hope non-Norridge residents retaliate by hitting them in the pocketbook, i.e. find other towns in which to do your shopping and dining, don’t do business in Norridge as much as possible.
Cumberland & Argyle
On the corner of Argyle facing Cumberland (facing the west direction) they are usually there in the last night/early morning hours 11pm – 3am.
Forest Preserve Drive near Harlem and Irving intersection Crossing
East and west on Forest Preserve Dr. there is most always a cop car sitting on any of the side streets on the north side of the road.Usually more west though toward harlem but there could also be more than one on different streets.
Oak Park Avenue near Gunninson and Montroseorse Street
30 mph
BW squads "trying" to hide and sometimes do hide well, in front or behind cars and trucks on the west side of the street of Oak Park Ave. Officers in Norridge have a poor attitudes and are very good fund raisers for Norridge so be very carful in all of the town as see in other traps. They are also looking for License stickers and all violations. I have been passed is several occasions in such of an aggressiveness as to endanger other drivers by speeding exceptionally high speeds not taking into consideration of the safety of the other cars in their way to catch an offender.
Irving Park Road near Ozark Avenue
Norridge squad sits either on west bound Irving park or in the Senior center parking lot in the early morning 4 to 5am.
