Central Avenue near 87th Street
Either a black or burgandy unmarked Crown Victoria with Grand Marquis hubcaps will park on the side of Central Avenue wherever there is parking allowed, posing as a resident. They will get you for going over 35 mph in a 30 mph zone. It can happen any time of the day,and every day! There are 2 different officers that do this,and this is all they do on their shifts. It is like this from 87th Street to 95th street. Sometimes they will park in the driveway of a vacant house, or in the parking lot of an apartment building, watch out…they’re really sneaky.
115th Street near Ridgeland Avenue
Heading eastbound on 115th, just after Ridgeland, there is a police officer parked in the IIT parking lot. He’s always there with his radar pointed at traffic, usually when no one else is there.
Central Avenue near 103rd Street
Oak Lawn cop sits in the Barrel Of Laughs parking lot on Central Ave near 103rd. They are usually there about twice a week in the morning around 7AM.
Central Avenue near 101st Street
A police officer will sit in the center turning lane in an unmarked car, with his turn signal blinking, as if he’s just making a left turn. As you pass, you can see he’s actually pointing a radar gun at the passing traffic. Anyone who’s traveled along Central on a routine basis knows that there is usually a cop somewhere along Cental.
95th Street
The entire village of Oak Lawn is nothing but a speedtrap. This is second only to property tax for generating reveiw for the city
