95th Street near Menard Street
Oak Lawn police have unmarked cars that are specially equiped for catching speeders. I was driving eastbound and my mind was somewhere else and I looked in my rear view mirror and a squad car was in back of me with its lights on in the car on the dashboard. I pull over the police officer tells me I was going 50 in a 30. I think it was 30 or it can be 35. I recieved a ticket and that was my first ticket. Now I will pay attention and drive like what the rules of the road book says.
Southwest Highway West, past Cicero Avenue
Anyone who lives around the Oak Lawn area knows that the cops and township is money hungry. I happened to be traveling West on Southwest highway, and I just made it past Cicero. Though the posted speed limit is 30MPH, people commonly do 50MPH when traffic is light. Oak Lawn PD is VERY sneaky throughout this gauntlet of marked Crown Victorias and Dodge Intrepids, and the ever MORE common unmarked Crown Victorias and unmarked Dodge Intrepids. While driving, one car will hit you on the radar and radio to the next car to pull you over. This stragety is getting more and more common.
