Sugar Grove, Illinois Speed Traps

This is a construction zone. Village police enforce the 45 in the middle of the night when nobody is working except them.

This is a relatively rural stretch of highway. The police will sit in numerous locations along it. Ofter, during peak hours, there are several units working the area. I’ve seen three people pulled over at once. Posted speed limit is reasonable, but enforcement is very high. I would not be surprised if the speed limit dropped on the western portion of this strip as the area develops.

watch out on Rt. 56 from Dugan Road to I88 for the smokies patrolling this stretch of roadway. they just got a couple of unmarked squad cars and there knocking down speeders like there’s no tomorrow.

Police cars will park facing west in the gravel driveway on the south side of Galena Boulevard, just west of State Route 56. The gravel driveway slopes down to the east and the police car is obstructed from view by the dense tree cover.

This is located on IL56 between Galena and IL 88. Police will park either in the median or under the Bike Path bridge with an officer atop the Bike Path bridge with a radar.
