Plainfield, Indiana Speed Traps
Highly used by motorcycle cops and unit # 246.
Policeman parks inside Colony Lake housing addition; stands on foot nearby and begins radaring motorists when they are stopped at the stop sign. I suppose this is so he can make sure you come to a complete stop or so he can tell if they are accelerating at a rate he finds acceptable. Speed limit is relatively low here compared to similar roads in the area, so watch yourself.
State and local police hide at the top of a large hill in the parking lot of the local hobby shop. Speed limit is 30mph (4 lane highway) and is enforced within 1mph. Limit should be at least 35 or 40.
Plainfield, State, and Airport Police hide in a warehouse parking lot. They are hidden by a large earth mound that is in between the road and the warehouse. This section of Stafford Road has always been enforced with much vigor. Limit was only recently raised to 45 from the ridiculous limit of 35. Prevailing speed of traffic seems to be about 50-55.
Policeman parks in median where speed limit drops from 55 to 45.
