US Highway 69 near Blue Valley Parkway

Overland Park, KansasFeb 15, 20080 Comments

Officers can sit in mass in green area just after US-69 splits slightly westward and into BV Parkway. Also officers sit just before the split on a official vehicle only turn-around and can tag either direction, but most often US-69S traffic.

179th Street near Interstate 69

Overland Park, KansasNov 05, 20070 Comments

As you exit 69 Highway heading west on 179th be prepared to slow down to 45mph! This area is monitored 90% of the time day and night! The officer hides on a side street on the south side where visibility is great for viewing traffic but where the driver does not see the officer until the lights are blazing! I’ve never received a ticket while traveling here, but only because I have learned from seeing others drivers receiving tickets on a daily basis! Nearly every time I drive on 179th there are drivers being ticketed!

Quivira Street near West 137th Street

Overland Park, KansasJul 19, 20070 Comments

Cop could be hiding on the sidewalk right behind bushes on W 137th targeting north-bound traffic. Due to the hilly nature and light traffic on Quivira between 143rd and 135th, plenty of traffic travels higher than the 45mph speed limit.

Interstate 435 near Quivira Road

Overland Park, KansasJun 18, 20071 Comments

East and west-bound 435 traffic will come towards Quivira Road, which just under the bridge in the median an O.P. officer will wait. Depending on the time of day they will park using the shadow of the bridge, running Lidar.
Sometimes they will use additional units at the on ramps to catch drivers who have been clocked by the officer under the bridge, sometimes they will run radar from the on ramps individually.
Enforcement has been sporadic but usually increases at the end of the month. Enforcement has increased due to construction at the 435/69 alternate interchange east of the bridge.
