Kenner, Louisiana Speed Traps
Vintage Street near Chateau Boulevard
Vintage is 25 mph from the canal to its western end. It’s wide enough to be a 35 mph street but one lane is designated for parking. When no one is parked it "feels like" a 35 mph. street. Police are often patrolling the area.
Chateau Boulevard near Chateau Boulevard
Kenner Police park behind the Sav-A-Center on Chateau/West Esplanade or they park in the parking lot behind the Chateau Country Club tennis courts to monitor speeds on Chateau Blvd.
Interstate 10 near Exit Number Loyola
Just after the I-10/I310 exchange, the Interstate comes down from crossing the lake, just before the Loyola exit. As the interstate comes down to ground level, there are always either state police or Kenner Police radering. Sometimes there are BOTH! They nail one person after another as it is hard to see them set up as you come down the interstate. They are hidden off to the right. Often, Kenner police set up a second trooper just after the next exit (Williams) between two bushes on the median. If you make it past the first trap at loyola, they get you at williams.
Power Boulevard
The police are usually between West Esplanade and Vintage
Vintage Boulevard
NOT a speed trap – but, there is always a cop waiting here for people to blow through a stop sign. Be VERY careful here – even if you *do* come to a complete stop he/she will find something else to get you on. Another spot to watch out for in Kenner is Webster & Kenner Ave. Same rules as above applies. This isn’t a matter of making the roads safer, it’s flat out harassment.
