I-695 inner loop at I-83 exit

Baltimore, MarylandFeb 01, 20020 Comments

this trap is on the left lane shoulder across from the I-83 exit ramp. beware as you’ll have to peek between the signs while going around the bend to spot the trap and slow down in time. normally state troopers will pull over cars going 70 or above in the left two lanes. if you see any cars on the shoulder, going uphill, SLOW DOWN to 65. as soon as you pass the trap, you are okay to do 75-85 mph. however, beware as MD state police will be using unmarked ford expeditions to catch speeders and agressive drivers.

I-83/ JFX southbound

Baltimore, MarylandFeb 01, 20020 Comments

About 1/2 mile south of I-695, There are bushes in the median. The cop stands behind them and shoots at those coming onto the JFX. It’s always the same guy. Sometimes he’s alone, but often he has 3-5 others that wave people to the side. He’s there often in the morning. Look for the lights in his open trunk. Rumor has it he is highly biased towards out of staters, while Marylanders like myself have a little more give.

Route 40 the Pulaski Highway

Baltimore, MarylandJan 01, 20021 Comments

the highway has several light controlled intersections with extremely fast amber lights. approaching the intersection one does not expect an instant red light. proceeding through results in a photo being snapped which includes a blowup of the license plate. A letter is then generated to the cars owner (or leesor) stating that he has been fined $75 very carefully pointing out that this fine will not be reported to his insurance company or will it result in any points on his license. It directs the owner to send the fine to the DIRECTOR OF FINANCES-CITY OF BALTIMORE. it seems that baltimore has come up with an ingenious way to have motorists fund the city.

I-95

Baltimore, MarylandJul 01, 20010 Comments

Mostly marked state troopers directly after the Southbound 95/895 split parallel to the road in the median stip. However, there appears to be an unmarked red Mustang patrolling the strip just south of 695 on 95. He uses X-band, so beware of X alerts, in addition to the K and Ka of the state troopers.

I-895 S at its northern junction with I-95

Baltimore, MarylandFeb 01, 20000 Comments

On I-895 southbound, *just* after it splits from I-95, the speed limit drops abruptly to 50MPH. Police sit in a small pulloff on the left shoulder, behind a guardrail. Fairly hard to spot, but it’s immediately after entering I-895 south from I-95 south.
