I-90/MassPike Prudential Tunnel WESTBOUND

Boston, MassachusettsAug 20, 20100 Comments

State cops in unmarked Crown Vics wait on the on-ramps and in the pull-out just before the end of the tunnel, using radar . Lighting in this tunnel is very poor, so the cops are well hidden. Tunnel is posted at 45, most traffic moving at 50-55. 10+mph over the limit will get you stopped and cited.

In the EZ Pass/Fast Lane eletronic toll collection lanes the speed limit drops from 30 to 15 without any warning. State Troopers from E Troop and F Troop (no kidding the Troops are identified by letters) stand just beyond the toll plaza in the part of the road which has already begun to dip down as you enter the Ted Williams Tunnell.
