Eastpointe, Michigan Speed Traps

Be sure watch your speed all along Hayes Ave. The speed limit is VERY strictly enforced!

Around 6 a.m. northbound Gratiot between Stephens and Frazho is a HUGE speed trap. Eastpointe police hide in the darkened parking lots of either the Pep Boys, Baywash car wash or the State Farm office practically every day. DO NOT go over the 40 mph speed limit.

Police officer parks on the grass median (Stephens and Gratiot) and watches for people without seatbelts. After you are seen not wearing seatbelt he radios to waiting patrol cars just up the road that pull you over. I would watch for this anywhere in Eastpointe down Gratiot during this summer 2008.

Cops always sit in the Womens Clinic at 8 mile near Redmond and issue speeding tickets to west bound 8 mile traffic. Watch your speed when on 8 mile between Kelly and Gratiot.

Day shift gives out tickets on Kelly Rd. Between 8 and 9 mile for doing even 1 mile over the speed limit. I know a few people who got tickets. Actually I got a speeding ticket for not having my seat belt on. The officer stated the road was icy so I got a speeding ticket instead of the seatbelt ticket. They hide on side streets and in parking lots off Kelly Rd. If you argue they write you up for another fake ticket!
