Hazel Park, Michigan Speed Traps
9 Mile Road near I-75 Off Ramp
Posted speed is 25 mph on a busy commercial four-lane road. On the same and similar streets that go through nearby towns the posted speed is 35 – 45 mph. The officer offers to reduce the ticket to obstruction of traffic instead of speeding, so you will get no points on your license, but he doesn’t tell you that the fine is much higher. This exact same thing has happened to other people I know.
John R Road near 10 Mile Road
I never drive on John R near 10 Mile without seeing someone getting pulled over. The cop car is in the paint store parking lot.
John R Road near 10 mile Road
Every day at 5:01 a patrol car pulls in to the GNE paint store parking lot and waits. They don’t have to wait long. You can’t see them until it is to late due to the landscaping around the parking lot.
Ten Mile Road near State Highway Dequindre
Eastbound Ten Mile between John R. and Dequindre. Police are beginning to park in parking lots of businesses(including the Hazel Park racetrack)to clock traffic going down Ten Mile Rd. Speed limit is 35 MPH in this area, so beware.
West 8 Mile/Dequindre Bypass
Officers in Hazel Park sit in the parking lots, marked white cars, & grey unmarked on driversside. Officers radar oncoming traffic, they are on the right hand side of the street as you drive going west& scope out drivers for seatbelts. Every 10 minutes they have a car pulled over. Going on the overpass on W. 8 mile towards Woodward Ave. Hope this gets out to those that drive this commute every morning.
