Howell, Michigan Speed Traps
Howell PD sit in various driveways on E. Coon Lake (between D19 and chilson) hidden by trees and bushes and in Novel Estates sub entrance. Some of the police cars are unmarked and difficult to notice until after you have already passed them.
Michigan Avenue, south of M-59 and north of Grand River, as well as all of the little residential streets around it, are awful. The Howell City Police make their rounds through there, and will get you for absolutely anything, be it speeding or something as trivial as defective equipment or no seatbelt. Speed limit is an understandable 35 and 25 because it is extremely residential, but if traffic is light you may find yourself unintentionally speeding, so watch out. Lots of the residential streets coming off of Michigan Ave. are shrouded by bushes or houses – you won’t see the cop till it’s too late.
Howell P.D. park in Pepsi plant driveway off of Mason Rd. just west of Michigan Ave. and also just west of the I-96 overpass by Peavy Rd. enforcing the 35mph limit frequently.
Mason Rd. changes from 55 mph west of Norton Rd intersection to 35 mph. Eastbound traffic that don’t make the speed transition most vulnerable.
Speed limit drops from 45 mph north of M-59 to 25 mph south of M-59 on Byron Rd. Howell police park in various lots in an around the hospital area.
Howell PD sits anywhere on Byron Road near McPherson Hospital…they hide amongst the offices in their parking lots. Go over 25 and you WILL get nailed
