Poinciana Drive near 17 Mile Road

Sterling Heights, MichiganAug 01, 20070 Comments

I live on Poinciana so I see cops all the time on my street. It’s the main artery into several of the subs in neighborhood off of 17 Mile Rd., and it’s long without stops, making it very easy to speed. They are constantly parked about 1/2 mile off of Van Dyke facing south. Those that live in the neighborhood know not to speed. Those that don’t live there are the ones that usually get nailed.

17 Mile Road near Van Dyke Boulevard

Sterling Heights, MichiganAug 01, 20070 Comments

17 Mile Rd East drops from 45 mph to 35 mph after crossing Van Dyke. There are cops hanging out in several locations: in the Rite Aid (formerly Farmer Jacks) parking lot, in the center lane facing west, and on the bridge just east of Van Dyke. It’s right near my house and I see people pulled over all the time, day or night. And they certainly use laser, as it was the first time I was able to "test" my radar detector for laser. I drove by a few times just for the novelty of the new sound.
