Edina, Minnesota Speed Traps
State Highway 100 near 50th Street
They sit on the S. bound ramp to 100 just up & to your right as you pass under the 50th St. bridge.
50th Street near Woodale Avenue
Squad cars park in the Utley Park parking lot next to Minnehaha Creek and shoot radar at the traffic heading east down the hill on 50th St not far from the Hwy 100 and 50th St exit. speed limit is 30 mph, but cars tend to pick up speed coming down the hill. (No residences on either side of the street.) This is an active speed trap that may be present at any time during the day and any season. At least once during the summer, they set up a "sting" operation with several unmarked cars parked in spots on 50th next to the park. Officers in plain clothes stand outside the squad cars with radar guns.
Braemar Boulevard/Golf Cart Bridge Crossing
Cops sit behind the bridge abutment and clock drivers. You never see it coming.
76th Street – Between France Ave. and Parklawn Ave.
Police will sit in the driveway of an apartment building and watch for speeders driving westbound. The speed limit is 30, it feels way too slow. The police car is well hidden. I have seen them watch from inside the car and stand outside with a handheld radar gun.
Xerxes Ave S just south of Hwy 62
Typical Edina cops with nothing better to do, one cops manages the radar and another directs drivers to pull over
