State Highway 7 near Baker Road

Minnetonka, MinnesotaAug 03, 20070 Comments

The speed limit on highway 7 from I494 to Shady Oak Road is much lower than the flow of traffic (50 mph down to 45 mph). It’s easy to speed and police sit just off the ramp from Baker Road to highway 7.

Rowland Road near Baker Road

Minnetonka, MinnesotaMar 09, 20070 Comments

There is a long stretch of this road that is completely un-inhabited by residential areas. The police love to sit groups of cars either near the Fire Station or on the steep hill further east on the road. Between 1 and 5 cars may be sitting waiting, with one officer on foot standing behind bushes to catch speeders. The large hill typically catches people off gaurd if coasting. Do Not coast down this hill. If caught, no warning will be issued and a ticket will be written.

Plymouth Road near Cedar Lake Road

Minnetonka, MinnesotaFeb 08, 20060 Comments

All roads in Minnetonka if busy, go with flow. Do not exceed 5 mph over posted on Plymouth Road especially near Cedar Lake Road. Same with North bound Baker Road & Shady Oak Road North of Excelsior Blvd. Minnetonka Blvd posted speeds. The obvious "in a hurry drivers" seem to be found at the wrong place at the wrong time. If there’s a hill, DON’T coast down the other side………You just might be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
