Springfield, Missouri Speed Traps
They’ll sit on the street corner right next to Tool Central (across from Academy) and shoot radar all the way to Plainview and Campbell. They’ll lock on and follow you down the hill from the 60mph zone through the 50mph and write you a ticket in the 40mph zone. It transitions quickly. I was at court this morning and the guy right in front of me had the same ticket, from the same officer for the exact same speed only 3 hours prior.
I live off Catalpa Street just east of national. Four or five times a month there is an officer parked on Catalpa, hidden by the bushes and large trees on that corner, checking speed on National Avenue. I usually see them there during rush hour and lunch hour times.
City of Springfield Officer sits under the bridge (viaduct) at Gasconade and U.S. 65. Sometimes northbound, sometimes southbound. The road is hilly and curvy with a 60 mile an hour speed limit. Clocks you when you are coming down the incline using Lidar.
They hide in a small drive that doesn’t go anywhere on the north side of the road, hidden by trees. You don’t see them until it’s too late. It is not too far east of Sam’s club – maybe just a mile or two.
Cop was sitting at the corner of a street with gun out the window. Pulled back enough that you can’t see him until it’s too late. Make sure you’re going 30MPH through there now.
