Bellevue, Nebraska Speed Traps
Galvin Road near Avery Avenue
Driving north on Galvin Rd., the speed limit drops from 35 to 25 on a downhill section near Avery Elementary School to Fort Crook Rd. Patrol cars are usually parked at the Fire Station or Romeo’s parking lot. Except during school zone hours, 35 would seem to be a safe speed, but the 25 mph limit makes it easy to get a ticket if you are still driving 35.
Chandler Road near Kennedy Expressway
Chandler Rd W is heavily patrolled between Fort Crook Rd and 36th St, where the speed limit is 35. The real "trap" is the four lane, divided section between the Kennedy Freeway and 25th St. Going downhill from 25th St., there is no residential or commercial traffic, and it is easy to be traveling at 45 mph (reasonable for traffic conditions) if you do not ride your brakes. This is Bellevue’s greatest source of speeding tickets. Enforcement is from both moving and stationary patrol cars.
Lincoln Road near harvell Road
They sit in those apartments next to the elementary school and clock you as you come down the hill and then charge you for speeding in a school zone if they catch you
