48th Street near Huntington Area

Lincoln, NebraskaMar 11, 20080 Comments

48th street speed limit goes from 35 to 25 in the Huntington business area. This is near the Westylan Campus. Police often park a police car in the drug store parking lot, but it is usually empty..it’s a decoy. Always slow down in this area.

Huntington Street near 37th Street

Lincoln, NebraskaMar 09, 20080 Comments

At 37th and Huntington, there is a cop out every day at some point. I’ve seen him mornings, afternoons, and even over night. As you’re heading west on Huntington (Leighton), you can’t see him until you hit the Ashley Square apartments because there is a sign that blocks him. Speed limit is 35 through here, but it’s two lanes both ways, and one side of the street is the empty part of East Campus.

Old Cheney Road near Black Forest Drive

Lincoln, NebraskaSep 20, 20070 Comments

As you are headed west on Old Cheney Road between 70th and Highway 2, the the entrance to the Black Forest residential neighborhood is on your right. It is immediately propr to Vandevoort Drive. The downward slope of the road prior to that point changes significantly making it very easy to exceed the posted 40mph limit as you come downhill. The Lincoln Police Dpartment runs speed traps there all the time and the officers park back off the entrance to the Balck Forest behind trees so they are very hard to see until you get right to Black Forest Drive. Times vary but enforcement is significant.

Interstate 90 near Lincoln city limit sign

Lincoln, NebraskaAug 28, 20072 Comments

Coming from the west, just east of the gas station the speed limit changes from 65 to 55 as you enter Lincoln. Squadrols coming from the opposite direction will tag you. Especially if you just leave the gas station and are unaware of the limit change
