Dodge Street near 132nd Street

Omaha, NebraskaJun 19, 20080 Comments

Officer, usually OPD parks his car inbetween that line of stubby trees just after the Boystown exit on Dodge street just far enough out to use his radar. Clocks traffic going east on dodge as soon as it clears the 144th street overpass. Very very difficult to see ahead of time. Don’t see enforcement at this location often, but traffic is usually traveling at least 65, posted limits are 55.

Police are hiding on side streets on either side of Millard South High School, or across the street by the park. They are checking Q street which is a 4 lanes major arterial street. The most common times are after school (3pm-5pm) and Friday and Saturday nights.

Interstate 480 near Martha Street

Omaha, NebraskaApr 22, 20080 Comments

The radar car sits at ramp the top of the North bound Martha St ramp and radios ahead to patrol cars lined up on the shoulder. This is a frequent but not everyday speedtrap. They also have a setup in the same general are going Southbound on I-480, but it’s not clear where the radar car is operating from.

Interstate 80 West near 42nd Street

Omaha, NebraskaFeb 01, 20080 Comments

When coming from Iowa into Nebraska on I-80, the trap is located just prior to merging onto the 4-5 lane traffic heading west (42nd street would be the first exit).
As you are going under the interstate bridge, they sit just to the right as you are coming out from under the bridge. Since there are so many cars & trucks around you, often times, you don’t see them until you have passed them. They sit back just enough so they are not seen until it’s too late. I have never received a speeding ticket, but I have seen them sitting there numerous times, usually around 1PM or so.

3700 S. 120th Street

Omaha, NebraskaOct 02, 20070 Comments

One cruiser hides at rear of German American Club parking lot and mostly catch people driving south on 120th street which is a downhill grade and only 35 mph on a 5-lane street. The speed limit also increases to 40 mph just past the German American Club so almost everyone is exceeding the limit. I live close and observe police there 5 out of 10 times I drive past.
