51st and Walnut (by HyVee)

Omaha, NebraskaDec 08, 20100 Comments

Not exactly a speed trap, but a low down police trick. There is a sign posted as you exit Hyvee onto 51st street, no left turn between 3 and 6 PM. The last two weeks officers have been lining up and giving citations to anyone failing to yield to this sign. Maybe handing out several hundred tickets a day. don’t make the same mistake I did.

Northbound 132nd St just before Pacific St

Omaha, NebraskaNov 27, 20100 Comments

Police motorcycle sits in center median of 132nd St 100 yards south of Pacific St. Officer has radar/laser aimed south. They get northbound vehicles traveling on a long straight downhill. Will have you pull into center median to ticket you. Seen there many various times, even during the evening rush hour, probably not winter though since no motorcycles then.

Motorcycle cops hiding along the curved roads within the park and adjacent to the trees. They are running hand-held radar guns and not wearing protective vests. The speed limit is 25MPH in the park.

Between I L Q Split, and Harrison Off Ramp (heading West)

Omaha, NebraskaSep 04, 20100 Comments

Highway Patrol, and Marked Police vehicles are parking along this stretch of the Insterstate ( no offramp between the I L Q split, and Harrison Exit)
They are parked right at the fork for Northbound 680 as you crest a slight hill (on right side) and at the 60 MPH sign right after the Q Street Exit

180th & Trailridge Road

Omaha, NebraskaAug 24, 20100 Comments

Douglas County Sheriff sits back about 1/2 block west of 180th & Trailridge Road. Grass is tall enough to camoflage him radaring southbound traffic on 180th Street. This are is right by Millard West High School, posted speed limit is a ridiculous 30 MPH along 180th Street.
