Las Vegas, Nevada Speed Traps
Westcliff between Durango dr. and Buffalo rd.
The officer, usually on a motorcycle, will wait in one of the many side streets that line this road. There, they point, shoot and give you a ticket. The speed limit is 35 on a well lit road that has 2-3 lanes each way. A 45 MPH speed limit would be much better.
Twain Ave. West between Industrial Ave. and Jones Ave.
3 to 4 motorcycle units with radar and 2 cars for backup;speed limit is 35mph then drops to 25 mph which is not well marked
Jones from Sahara to Charleston
This chunk of road is 35mph rather than the 45 of everything around it. There’s *ONE* house in that mile.
Swenson between the airport and Tropicana
The trap usually has about 5-10 motorcycle officers with one running rader. It is run on the one-way stretch of Swenson between the airport tunnel and Tropicana. They clock you as you come over the hill just outside of the airport where the speed limit drops from 50 to 35.
Tropicana between Las Vegas Blvd. and Swenson
Cops sit and wait near the airport where the speed drops from 45 MPH to 35 MPH. Most of the time they are waiting for people rushing to get back to work. Lunch time is the highest time of inforcement, but rush hour is also inforced heavily.
