Albuquerque, New Mexico Speed Traps
Interstate 40 Westbound near River Bridge
There’s an empty police cruiser (Except for a mannequin dressed as a APD cop) sitting in the right hand shoulder of Westbound I-40. It severely screws up traffic, causing rolling backups sometimes all the way to the I-25 interchange. Why is APD risking collisions because of people slowing up/stopping to gawk at this??
Lead Street near Interstate 25
Officer stands out on street with motorcycle parked away while he shoots from his lasar gun. Speed is set at 30 but I think the residential area( before the medical clinics)has complained about speeders. Especailly TVI and UNM students catching I-25 here.
Interstate 25 S near Under I-40 East Ramp
Heading South on I-25, hill-like view at the Big I(I-25 overpass, I-40 EB&WB below), likes to sit under I-40 West On-ramp/Frontage Road Exit. Waits for you to hit the top of I-25 overpass.
University Boulevard near Sunport Parkway
On University Blvd by the airport across the street from the INS office. I have seen an officer sitting in his car in a driveway. I always see him around midnight. I have seen him so often that I wave now.
University does some wierd things right there. The road basically stops at Gibson, but if you get on Yale to go to the airport and turn west on Randall(I think) that street will turn back into University after a 25mph turn.
The officer sits just east of that 25mph turn, in a driveway on the north side of the street. He never has any loghts on or anything, but he is paying attention and not napping.
During the day you will see the INS office building directly across the street from where he waits. He is and APD officer.
