w/b Goethals Road North at South Avenue
The NYPD have a radar-equipped YELLOW TAXICAB (medallion 6Y**) hanging around South Ave who will radio your plate over to a waiting marked car to pull you over.
Hylan Boulevard between Great Kills Road and Nelson Avenue
Blue and white NYPD – same cop every day. Appears that 50 (mph) is the magic number. He’s somewhat arrogant – doing his job. He can be found on either side of Hylan, but always between Nelson Ave. and the Park.
Rt440 East
On Rt440 Eastbound on Staten Island, just before the Bayonne Bridge Toll plaza, there is an incline, then a peak, followed by a declining curve to the leFort As you crest the peak and curve left there is frequently a cop waiting on outside of the curve (right hand side) behind a bush. You can’t detect the radar very well because you’re not getting hit with it until you crest the hill and by that time you’re already nailed. He’ll just pull you over right into the toll plaza before the bridge (and before NYPD jurisdiction ends). This toll plaza in a general is a favorite of both NYPD and Port Authority cops since their jurisdictions border here.
