Staten Island, New York Speed Traps
Staten Island Xwy West, Bradley Ave Exit
A cruiser sits on the right shoulder just before the Bradley Entrance. There are additional cars either in the entrance or on the road. Speed limit is 50mph and the road is open. The trap may be there at all times of the day but mostly morning rush hour.
Staten Island Expressway right after the Verrazano toll plaza
Once in a while I see an unmarked car sitting in the shoulder waiting for people to try to beat the rush hour traffic by driving in the shoulder. Don’t do anything stupid and you won’t get caught !
Lower level Verrazano bridge towards Staten Island
Saw an MTA Police wagon pull over an older gentleman the other day. He must have been hiding out under the bridge right before the toll plaza – there is a hiding spot under the bridge but before the tolls.
West Shore Expressway near Victory Blvd exit
Speed limit is 50 mph, traffic usually travelling at 65 mph. Near the Victory Blvd exit there is a NYPD Highway car between the median waiting for you
