Cleveland, Ohio Speed Traps
Noble Road near Caledonia Road
Near Nela Park Electric Company, just as a traveler leaves Cleveland Hts. a camera is set up. I do not believe that the picture taken was of my vehicle, as the car on the otherside of me was speeding. The other vehicle is in the picture as well but it’s plates are not seen. I do not believe that the camera is acurate; it cannot discriminate well in two lane traffic as it is so low to the ground. Besides, I just avoid E. Cleveland all together! I now even refused to do any business in E. Cleveland, you’ll get not another penny of mine.
14th Street near 176 Jennings Freeway
Driving North on 176 Jennings Freeway, there is a motorcycle Officer on the berm. If you take the off-ramp too soon you cross berm lines. If you do you will get a ticket for ‘Driving on Berm’ and the fine is $179. He writes probably 200 tickets/per day, especially during Monday rush hour, when the merge unto Route 90 East is backed up. Drivers take the 14th exit to avoid the traffic jam and Wham, they now get you to contribute to the City of Cleveland for trying to get to work on time and help alleviate the congestion. No safety issue here, just blantant Revenue Generation. Being from out-of-town, I had no idea, in fact this has been going on for months and I thought it was just a vehicle inspection. Now after 6 months of saying how great Cleveland was and defending it’s terrible reputation, I will do just the opposite and tell everyone I know to avoid a city which cares nothing about people, only money.
